If I go with various dogs, might as well mix things up. While not all dog breeds work great with one another, there are some which tend to be very friendly and just a joy to be around. With that in mind, here you have some of the best options to consider!
Barbet
This one might be a rare breed, but it’s amicable, and it works great with other dogs too. That’s because they are just too smart as well as joyful. Which is why you do need to check them out. However, they do require quite a lot of attention, cleanliness, and maintenance. It’s important to know this before you focus on getting such a dog.
Cocker Spaniel
It’s easy to love the Cocker Spaniel because it’s gentle, playful and he always likes interacting with other dogs. That being said, this is a very cuddly dog breed. So it tends to work great with similar breeds. But based on my experience, they are great with just about any race. So as long as you enjoy the idea of owning a cocker spaniel, you will have no problem having 2 or more dog breeds in your home.
German Shepherd Dog
The German Shepherd Dog is a natural protector, so it makes a lot of sense to have them among other dogs. Despite being rather large and tall, they are not pushing other breeds away. Instead, this makes them a pleasure to be around for all kinds of pets, regardless of their age or breed. Which is why getting a German Shepherd Dog is excellent if you want to have multiple dogs.
Poodle
Poodles are known for being quite hard to take care of. However, they are lovable, funny, bright and cute at the same time. All dogs love them, not to mention they are very friendly with every dog out there too. So if you do want to avoid any conflicts between dog breeds, getting a Poodle is an excellent idea. Yes, there are high maintenance costs, but the Poodle is beautiful, and the entire experience will be an amazing one. It is one of the most trainable dogs breed in the world.
Anatolian Shepherd
The Anatolian Shepherd will hang out with all kinds of dogs and even other animals. They are super friendly and just a joy to have around. If you like excellent, fun loving and intelligent dogs, the Anatolian Shepherd is a probable option. And the best thing about this breed is that it always makes you feel loved. Yes, this is a large pet, but a loveable one as well!
Maltipoo
While the Maltipoo is a combination of poodles and Maltese, they are known for the fact that they can easily adapt to any environment and they also tend to be very charming. These playful animals are a treat to have around. And the best part is that having them close to you will be quite astonishing and exciting in its own right.
Bolognese
Bolognese dogs might be small, but they are comical, devoted and social. Which means having more dogs won’t be a problem for them. If anything, they will be great friends with those pets and that on its own can be downright impressive. It’s safe to say that this is one of the best dog breeds you want to start having more than a single dog. There won’t be any arguments or disagreements between the Bolognese and other dogs, which is precisely what you need.
Boxer
Boxers are fun to have around. And even though they do have a very menacing look, in reality, they are cute and cuddly. It’s nice to have them around and dogs like them just as much. They tend to communicate with other dogs, and they enjoy their company so, for the most part, it will be a pretty exciting and fun experience to have.
Collie
You most likely know Collie dogs from the Lassie movies, and the reality is that these dogs are a lot of fun to be around. They are particularly great with kids and other dogs too. However, it’s a good idea to test things out and see how your collie will react when seeing other dogs. They are favorable to response, and that’s something you have to keep in mind.
Basset Hound
Basset Hounds tend to attach to humans and other dogs too. Yes, they have an excellent relationship with other dogs, and the best part is that you can stay away from conflicts. Based on my own experience, Basset Hounds are great if you want to have more than one dog, as they will be gentle with boxers, collies, barbets and so on.
St. Bernard
St. Bernards are gentle and very sweet. They were bred specially to help travelers and people in dire need. However, in time they learned how to adapt to other pets too. And that’s great because they will be a fantastic option if you want to find a new pet. Give them a shot if possible.
Interestingly, there are lots of dog breeds that get along with other dogs without any problems. If you go with any dog breed in this list, you will not have a problem finding the right match. Nevertheless, it might take a bit of time to see 2 or more dogs that you feel a connection to. But if you take your time and focus on the right approach, the experience will be more than ok.
